TRIPS
Travel means a lot to me, but I have never resonated with the idea of vacationing or tourism. Most modern language and behavior around travel feels like a form of escapism, consumerism or colonialism to me. I’ve been really impacted by the writings of Ralph Waldo Emerson on this topic — look up “RWE, the soul is no traveller. To me - travel is never a pause in my story, or an escape from it, but rather I approach it as an opportunity to write one. Learning the heartbeat of a new place or just creating out of the inspiration it brings me fuels my love to get out of town.
